On 14 May 2016 wreath laying ceremony was held at the Arctic Convoys Memorial in the Cove, Loch Ewe, on the occasion of the 71th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

It was Loch Ewe where many vessels that would travel to and from the Soviet Union were stationed during the war.

The wreaths were laid by the Consul General of Russia in Edinburgh Andrey Pritsepov, Councillor R.Green and Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty Jean Lindsay.

The ceremony was followed by the tour of the Russian Arctic Convoys Museum  provided by the Chairman of the Museum Project Committee Mr George Milne and the Museum Curator Mr Stuart Mackenzie.
