On December 23-24, 2014 a delegation of the Russian Veterans of the Arctic Convoys visited Scotland. Eight veterans from Moscow and St Petersburg met their Scottish counterparts in Edinburgh, Inverness and Grangemouth and laid a wreath at the Scottish Merchant Navy Memorial in Leith, Edinburgh.

The events held for the Russian sailors were attended by the Scottish Veterans of the Arctic Convoys, representatives of the Consulate General of Russia in Edinburgh, British and local government, Royal British Legion Scotland.

The trip was a return visit after a delegation of the British veterans took part at the unveiling of a new Arctic Convoys Memorial in St Petersburg in September 2014.
